Trading things of Worth

For swapping web bookmarks (the things you have found that have interested you) for other people's bookmarks (other people are invariably more interesting than you are).

The Trade's general aim is to spread everything, but mainly things which are unusual and interesting and probably a lie... If you want in, scrawl on the latest entry!

Tutorial: Laborious Bokmarks

Bokmarks? What Bokmarks??
If you like a page, you can save it as a bookmark. Yes! Yes you can!

Usually it's in the toolbar, in "file" or "bookmark", or right click on the page you like...
On a fancy Mac: (apple key) + (D) does it!

On a muck-common PC: (Ctrl) + (D) does it, i think...
I dare say you knew about that bit. Exporting is the fun bit:

Firefox: click Bookmarks, then Organiz(s)e which will give you a happy window of all your bookmarks:
click File: -> Export, and then i think try and save as a .html file.

Safari: happily, just click File, then Export Bookmarks, and it'll be in .html. Poifect.

Windows Internet Explorer: Should be pretty much the same, and I don't care enough to find out.

Now we've all got little .html files of our bookmarks, which enjoy being emailed back and forth between people very much indeed, thank you very much, indeed.

Till

That was a productive couple of hours! Above is a picture sort of showing how to export.import bookmarks, if you don't know; and below is a wordy tutorial if you still don't know after squinting at the picture above...

Below all of them is the first of yon bookmark files, shared in /html code.

This may work...

countertop

I was busily packing all my free time into a bin in the student centre last week when i offered to send a friend my bookmarks as an exported file.

What a nifty idea, you mutter. Yes, yes it is.
What would be the benefits of doing such a thing? Go think of some. I'm not your mother.

So I suppose... If you wish to trade your bookmarks (and I Stress trade), leave your email here, or better, send it to me... Odds are you know me anyway. If I see a better way of doing this, I'll change it.
